The Bees Knees Blog

Poetry Pen-Pals

Bee Friends

The Bees’ Knees Blog invites you to make poet friends.

Hello Everyone,

Please consider introducing yourself to our workshop members. Let us know about your upcoming projects, what sign you are, how you feel about dog kisses, anything, everything. Or just say hello by posting a comment on this “Poetry Pen-pal page.”

You are also encouraged to use this space to make connections with other poets. Please, start a typersation with each other.

This is also a good place to tell us about your recent successes. If a poem is accepted for publication or you have carved the face of Elvis into a pile of potatoes, we would like to know about it.

Also, if the Bees’ Knees blog is too public a space for your workshop taste, please consider using the “Poetry Pen-Pal” page to invite poets to your own tree-house-email-locations.

Best Wishes and Happy Type Greetings,

ND

My name is Michael. I am a published poet of more than foety years. I wish to correspond with people who are interested in poetry. My poetry is blunt. It tells the facts about the idiosyncrasies of life and views people and situations from the many angles of life. life is like a diamond, with many facets. My writing looks ar them all. If people would like a good dose of reality, then that is what my writing contains. My E mail address is: kathy.mike.43@gmail.com. I do not take phone calls and I do not respond to regular post mail, unless I recognize who it is from. But I welcome E mails from people with similar interests.
      Sincerely, Michael.

    Hello Muriel Jane,

It is very good to hear from you. You are a busy poet, that is for sure. Welcome to the Bees’ Knees. It is wonderful to have your voice be part of the collective poetry buzzing.

If possible, it would be wonderful to have links to your books…so that we might find them, buy them, and read them!

I hope you are writing a poem right now.

    Best Wishes,
    Nicelle Davis

      Hello Kelli,

Welcome to the Bees’ Knees. I’m sorry it has taken me so long to respond to your salutation–the holidays have become my time monster.

I may be bias (oh who am I kidding–I am bias), but I think poetry aids all modes of writing.

I am glad you have joined us and look forward to chatting about poetry with you.

      Best Wishes,
      Nicelle Davis

    I am mouse.
    I am dreary.
    I write books.
    Read books.
    Poetry is all encompassing.
    Chocolate is heaven on earth.
Chocolate is hell on earth …
    Cats comfort.
    Books adore.
    Daisies are better
    but tiger lilies bow
    and tiger lilies die
    and tiger lilies live
and did you know that I am happier now?

A Story Told While Eating Chips and Dip in 1974
    (Villanelle)

    Do you recall Notre Dame?
    You borrowed an Army Jeep.
You ran into an unknown man.

Almost asleep, not a glance or a quick scan,
you popped in reverse, an impulsive leap.
    Do you recall Notre Dame?

You never checked his injuries, you ran.
He crumpled atop his tripod in an awkward heap.
You ran into an unknown man.

    You didn’t notify the gendarme.
Army regulations or Mom’s civilization, only skin-deep.
    Do you recall Notre Dame?

You told your war story after you popped a few cans.
Bragging, maybe remorse; a secret you couldn’t keep?
You ran into an unknown man.

If he’s dead, you’ve now joined his clan.
What would he say, should you meet?
    Do you recall Notre Dame?
You ran into an unknown man.
